Bohemian Rhapsody: Mercury Finally Not in Retrograde

May 15, 2018 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

Bohemian Rhapsody is a film that has been in production almost as long as it takes to listen to the titular song, end to end. As in, it has been in production for a LONG time. The dual Queen and Freddie Mercury biopic was first announced in 2010, but over the past eight years has gone through casting and re-casting, script issues, directors dropping in and out, producers dropping in and out, and misunderstandings between the production and the surviving members of the band. But at long last, with Rami Malek portraying Mercury, and Dexter Fletcher having taken over direction from the much (and deservedly) maligned Bryan Singer, the first trailer has been released. The film is set to debut later this year, and expectations are high.

A simple Google search would reveal that Freddie Mercury heavily favored the aviator frame. And as well he should. It’s a classic style that has never gone out of fashion.

Jonathan I., by ic! Berlin. Shown in col. rose gold.

Dexter Fletcher, however, seems to favor the rectangular, acetate eyeglass frames.

George, by Morgenthal Frederics. Shown in col. 384.

Of these three men though, Rami Malek has a very hard time deciding what his frame of choice may be. He likes aviator frames, wayfarer frames, rectangular frames, round frames, square frames, etc etc. The man is all over the place!

RM 786, by Robert Marc. Shown in col. 392.
